Nokia showcases Android

Microsoft’s part acquisition of Nokia’s Smartphone division may have forced many people to think that they will never get to see an Android phone from Nokia. But a recent announcement from the Finnish cell phone giants at the Mobile World Congress, where they took center stage to introduce not one, not two, but three Nokia Android smartphones, called the X, X+ and XL. Even though the launch of the X series will put them in a head on collision with the Nokia Windows phone, the unveiling was welcomed by many attending the MCW2014. According to Nokia the X series will be available for the South American, Eastern and Asian markets with the rest of Europe and North America having to wait a while before they get to taste the Nokia X series.

What to Expect From Nokia X Series

When Nokia initially announced their first ever Android Smartphone, many expected the X series to be a high-end Smartphone with a host of the latest features. But by the looks of the introductory sets, it seems that the X series has been developed and marketed keeping the average user in mind. Many people would question Nokia’s move to launch new Android phones for just under 110 Euros, but it seems that the low price tag could be a deliberate tactic to lure those old Nokia customers, who moved away from the Finnish makers when they partnered with Microsoft and put Windows Mobile on their phones.

The X series is built to resemble the rest of the Lumia Series in terms of looks and is made mostly of mid ranged hardware, which has helped Nokia to price the Nokia X at €89, Nokia X+ at €99 and the XL at €109. Even though the X series will look and feel a lot like the Windows phone despite being powered by an Android OS, it has not deterred to users from falling in love with it.
